Father & Son Play Together for Cobh Juniors

A momentous day for Cobh GAA yesterday as father and son, Brendan and Paidi Kearney respectively, lined out together for the Junior Hurlers as they defeated Aghada in the league.

A proud day for all associated with the Kearney family and a testament to their dedication to Cobh GAA Club.

Is there a few more years left in those legs Brend so that Diarmuid can get it on the act??

The game also featured an uncle/nephew partnership as Brendan Meaney and Conor Farrell took to the field and also contributed with some fine scores. Well done lads!

The club has had many brothers  and cousins playing together on various teams over the years such as the Butlers, Aherns, O Connells and the Meaneys.

A special mention also goes to club stalwart Seanie Butler, Seanie along with Tom Butler and Mike Butler (father and sons) played together in the 80's/90's on a few occasions. Seanie even managed a few outings in his early 70's for the club to top it all off.

It is great to see the GAA is still encompassing family tradition and long may it continue!
