Cobh Gaa & Camogie Clubs Sponsored Walk – Sat 8th August
A big well done and thank you to all our players, their parents and friends who turned out in big numbers last Saturday for the annual sponsored walk. Kieran Histon led Conor McLoughlin, Diarmaid Kearney, Pádi Kearney and Ronan Damery around the 5km course at a very impressive pace while they were followed by all of the walkers who thoroughly enjoyed their walk on an unusually beautiful summers’ day.
In the 10k run Danny Keating went two places better than last year coming home first with Adam McCarthy and Eoin Hastings close behind. Mary DeBarra led the women home with Fiona O’Sullivan and Fiona Perry coming in together in joint second. Conor Farrell took the underage prize and Dave Devlin and Derek Keaney followed him over the finish line.
Well done to all who took part and a big thank you to those who helped out on traffic, water stop, photography and timing duty. The important thing now is that we get the sponsorship money in as soon as possible so that it can be passed on to our charities, Cobh Community Hospital and Marymount Hospice.
