Cobh v Glanmire Sunday February 24th in Pairc Ui Chonaill
Cobh’s ‘A’ team played out a draw with visitors Glanmire in a game which was dominated by the strength of the wind. Some nice first half scores were taken and Cobh went in 0-7 to 0-1 ahead at the break but it was a backs to the wall affair in the second half as Glanmire used their spell with the elements to good effect. Draw was probably a fair result. Dave McCarthy, Darren Tallon, Brian Aherne, Pete Drumgoole and Derek Barrett played well for Cobh.
Cobh v Glenville Saturday March 22nd in Pairc Ui Chonaill
Cobh managed to fight their way back into an exciting game at Pairc Ui Chonaill last Saturday with a goal within the last 10 minutes. Cobh were unable to maintain possession however and conceded 2 late points to put the game beyond reach. A young team will take heart from this gutsy performance leading into championship action next weekend.

Cobh v Carrignavar March 16th at Pillmore
Despite taking the lead midway through the second half through a Sean Daly goal, Cobh found possession hard to maintain and scores hard to come by against a dogged Carrignavar defence. Cobh played with the wind in the first half and a Brendan Meaney point followed by two converted placed balls from Daly gave Cobh the advantage. Cobh lost their way towards the end of the first half with three points being conceded in the last 5 minutes without reply to leave the interval score at 0-7 to 0-3 in favour of Carrignavar. Cobh resumed the second half and dominated scoring 1-2 with Dermot O’Rourke and John Griffin taking their point chances. Despite the defensive efforts of Pat Sloane at half back and Pete Drumgoole and Darren Tallon in the full back line Cobh couldn’t hold on to the lead created and failed to register another score.
